Additional Information

  • The first draft of the budget does not call for an increase in the real estate tax for 2021.
  • The current millage rate is 0.02325, which translates to a quarter of 1 mill.
  • The Township has maintained the equivalent of this millage rate since 1990. 
  • The real estate tax, for a home assessed at $200,000, is $45.80 in Warwick Township.
  • The draft of the 2021 budget for revenue comes in at $5,186,705. 
  • The 1.75% revenue reduction for 2021 is primarily from reductions in Interest, Earned Income and Realty Transfer.
  • Future trends show continued reduced revenue from cable franchise and state reimbursements.
  • Proposed in 2021 will be a Stormwater Fee introduced by July, 2021.

Additional Information

  • Expenditures for 2021 come to $5,244,194, only $10,000 over 2020 budget.
  • The 2021 budget will utilize an estimated $60,000 of Cash Balance.
  • Over $780,000 is earmarked toward maintenance and repair of roads and bridges (the Township maintains 87 miles of roadway).
  • The budget contains increased support and expansion of the Warwick Emergency Services Commission (direct support of fire and ambulance companies) and includes an equipment replacement schedule of $693,000 for 2021.
  • The Streetlight assessment rates will remain unchanged for 2021.
  • The Capital Storm Water Replacement fee will be initiated in July, 2021. 
  • The Northern Lancaster County Regional Police Department continues to provide police protection to Warwick Township and is in its 10th year of operation.
  • Continued effort on joint project to complete the 6th Street extension.  Both roundabouts will be completed May, 2021.
  • Phase 1 of 6th Street extension costs will be over $600,000.
  • Budget for operating costs is matching the 2020 budget with no growth, but investment in infrastructure/equipment assets will be over $1.9 million for 2021.
  • The Township has no debt service.
  • The Township continues to have an AA Bond Rating.
