ISO Rating

The Public Protection Classification (PPC) for Warwick Township was upgraded from a 6/9 to 4/9 as part of the analysis completed by ISO on June 21, 2010. The lower the classification number, the higher the point score; a "4" represents 60-69.99 points out of 100, and a "6" represents 40-49.99 points out of 100 points.

The first class ("4") applies to properties within 5 road miles of a recognized fire station AND within 1,000 feet of a fire hydrant or alternative water supply. The second class ("9") applies to properties within 5 road miles of a recognized fire company, but beyond 1,000 feet of a fire hydrant. Class "9" is a fire suppression system that includes a creditable dispatch center and fire department, but no FSRS (Fire Suppression Rating Schedule) creditable water supply (e.g. properties on private wells, with no hydrants or designated alternative water supply).¹

Over 60% of the communities ISO has evaluated do not have this capability, so ISO developed a split classification.}
