The municipalities of Akron Borough, Ephrata Borough, Ephrata Township, and Warwick Township collectively received a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (PA DCNR) for the purpose of conducting a Regional Rails-to-Trails Feasibility Study. The Study is intended to determine if it is feasible to develop a portion of the former Reading Railroad right-of-way into a trail system to serve the purposes of recreation and alternative transportation. The municipalities held the final public meeting on the Warwick-to-Ephrata Rail-Trail Feasibility Study on December 7, 2006. Following are excerpts from the actual Feasibility Study document. Unfortunately, due to the file size, we are unable to post the entire study on this website. A copy of the entire Warwick-to-Ephrata Rail-Trail Feasibility Study is available for review at the Lititz Public Library, 651 Kissel Hill Road, and at the Warwick Township Municipal Building, 315 Clay Road, Lititz. You may also request a CD-ROM with the full study in PDF format by calling the Warwick Township Office at 717-626-8900 or e-mail. The cost for each disk is $25.00. Please note, CD-ROM copies are not readily available and are provided on an "as requested" basis. You may also request a paper copy of the Feasibility Study. The cost for a paper copy will be based on the incurred cost by the Township to have the document printed.
